Clear, starlit skies will be above us this Friday night until the 80% waning gibbous moon rises at 8:36pm. The National Weather Service has issued a FREEZE WARNING (meaning that below freezing temperatures are highly likely and that these conditions can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation). Areas south of US70 and west of US17 (southern Lenoir, southern and western Craven, western Carteret, Jones, Onslow and Duplin counties) will see lows of 28-32...most of the rest of us will drop to 30-34...and the beaches will be in the upper 30s. Frost is likely after midnight but I don't think that it will be cold enough to freeze household pipes tonight.

Saturday will start cold with a fairly thick layer of frost on the ground. With sunshine and blue skies all day we should warm up to the low 60s along the beach and 63-67 on the mainland.

Saturday night will be clear and cold with lows in the upper 30s.

Sunday will be sunny and warm with the high temp in the low 70s (cooler by 5 degrees along the beach).

Sunday night will be clear with low temps in the middle 40s.

Monday will be mostly sunny and warm with the high temp in the middle 70s.

Monday night some clouds will start into the area from the west and south with lows in the lower 50s.

Tuesday starts with some sunshine but becomes mostly cloudy by the afternoon with high temps in the middle 70s.

There is a decent chance for showers on Tuesday night with lows in the lower 50s.

Veteran's Day Wednesday starts with clouds but improves to a mix of sun & clouds with the high temps in the upper 60s.
