  • ...Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST this morning...
  • locations...the southern sandhills and southern coastal plain... including Wadesboro...Rockingham...Raeford... Fayetteville... Clinton...and Goldsboro.
  • Hazard types...although the advised area didn't receive any accumulating snow...there was a significant amount of rain... and any areas where rainwater runoff drains onto the Road may result in localized areas of black ice this morning.
  • Timing...through mid morning.
  • Impacts...freezing of rainwater runoff on area roads will result in localized icy conditions this morning. In addition...walkways and sidewalks may be slippery and dangerous to walk on.
  • Temperatures...in the upper 20s. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Its often hard to see or recognize black ice ahead of you...so be sure to take it easy and drive slower...leave plenty of following distance...and exercise extreme caution.
