- ...Wind Advisory in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to midnight EDT tonight... The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Wind Advisory for all of central NC...which is in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to midnight EDT tonight.
- Timing...this afternoon and into the evening.
- Winds... southwest winds ahead of the cold front will increase into the 20 to 25 mph range by the afternoon...with frequent gusts between 35 and 45 mph. Equally strong northwest winds will occur behind the front during the evening as much colder air surges in from the northwest.
- Impacts...gusty winds may blow around loose objects and knock down tree branches and limbs. Additionally... with soggy ground conditions from recent heavy rains...winds of these magnitude may also knock down a few trees. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
