The big bright 72% full waxing gibbous moon has a few high thin clouds streaming across it this chilly Wednesday night. We will likely continue to see some of those thin clouds through the night tonight even after the moon sets around 2am Thursday morning. The clouds are associated with a re-enforcing shot of cold air that will follow a cold front across our area later tonight. Along with the shot of fresh cold will come an increasing northwest wind. As the wind picks up, it could hamper the development of ground/steam fog near bodies of standing water (drainage ditches with water in them, creeks, ponds, etc.) and could limit how much frost develops (even though I already had a good layer of frost on my car top at 8:00pm this evening). Low temps will be similar to last night with 26-30 inland, 30-34 on the rivers and sounds and 34-38 along the beaches. The wind will make those already cold temperatures feel even colder, so you’ll need to bundle up before heading out Thursday morning.
Thursday should be mostly sunny (with a few high thin clouds scooting across the sun early in the day) and even cooler with the high temperature only making it to 42-46. A steady north wind will make it feel even colder.
Thursday night should be mostly clear and the coldest night of the week with low temps in the range of 20-24.
Friday should be mostly sunny in the morning with clouds starting to roll in late in the day with the high near 50.
Friday night will become mostly cloudy and not as cold with the low temp in the lower 30s.
Saturday looks to be cloudy and rainy likely in the afternoon and evening with the high temp in the lower 60s.
Saturday evening will be rainy with the rain tapering off during the overnight over the inland areas but likely continuing along the coast. Low temperatures will be much milder, near 50 degrees.
Sunday starts with clouds and a few showers lingering right along the coast, but then improves to a mix of sun and clouds with the high temp around 55.
Sunday night will be mostly clear with the low temp right around freezing.
Monday should be mostly sunny and cold with the high around 45.
Monday night will be mostly clear and cold with the low around 30.
Tuesday should bring a mix of sun and clouds with the high temp close to 55
We hang onto some clouds along with the bright moon and stars Tuesday night with the low in the lower 30s.
Wednesday should be mostly sunny with the high temp again close to 55 degrees.
