Wood Ducks to hold promotion for National Tattoo Day

KINSTON, Lenoir County - The Down East Wood Ducks will recognize National Tattoo Day on July 17 with a special discount for fans who attend their game against the Frederick Keys.

Anyone with a tattoo will get $3 off any game ticket for the July 17 game. The promotion is sponsored by Jacksonville Tattoo Company.

Also, anyone who gets a Wood Ducks or Woodies tattoo will receive free admission for the remaining 22 home games in 2017. Wood Ducks GM Wade Howell kicked off the promotion Thursday by getting a "Woodies" tattoo from the Jacksonville Tattoo Company.

"The logo represents a milestone for me personally, professionally and as a new Kinstonian. The Wood Ducks are as permanent in Kinston as a tattoo….we are here to stay", said Wade Howell, Wood Ducks GM, in a press release.

Representatives from the Jacksonville Tattoo Company will be on site at the game July 17 for consultation and to schedule future appointments. Fans can stop by their table for more information. Gates open at 6 p.m. and first pitch is at 7 p.m.
