NEW BERN, Craven County - It's going to be a busy week for some area high school football teams next week.
Not that anybody is complaining.
Five area teams won on Friday and advanced to their respective classification's state finals. North Duplin beat Plymouth, 12-6, to reach the Class 1-A state title game. Tarboro rolled past Edenton, 50-7, to take the Class 1-AA East title and move on to the state finals.
In Class 2-A, Wallace-Rose Hill rolled past Southwest Onslow 49-7 and in Class 2-AA, East Duplin held off a tough North Davidson team, 38-28.
In Class 3-A, Havelock won its 50th straight road game by beating Western Alamance, 41-14.
