A 45-minute lightning delay in the first quarter slowed the preseason Super Bowl rematch, but the Broncos emerged with a 21-16 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday in the exhibition opener for both teams in Denver.

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning completed 10 of 13 passes for 78 yards. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was done after going 4-for-6 for 37 yards.

Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch, who ended a training-camp holdout on July 31, did not play against Denver. Twelve Seahawks caught passes thrown by three quarterbacks.
