Blitz Week 10

Playoff picture starting to clarify

Plymouth hosted undefeated Manteo for the Four Rivers Conference title.

The Redskins scored on their first drive of the night but that would be all their offense could muster against the Vikings defense.

Plymouth scored 36 first half points to all but end the game at the half.

Both teams would trade possessions and turnovers in the third quarter before Plymouth put the nail in the coffin with a long touchdown run to make it 44-8.

The Vikings win the Four Rivers Conference and are assured to host one playoff game.

Riverside 31  Southside 28

Long time Seahawk coach DeWayne Kellum was honored before the game in what would be his last home game at the helm of Southside.

His Seahawks fell behind early as Riverside was getting the yards in big chunks thanks to a powerful offensive line and backs that were hard to tackle.

Southside would fight back and try to win one for Kellum but in the end they would come up just a bit short as Riverside takes it 31-28.

Southern Wayne 24  North Lenoir 31

Cedric Summers had a good night on the ground and the Hawks defeat Southern Wayne 31-24.

Caleb Baird added a field goal for the Hawks.

It was North Lenoir's first conference win in 6 years.

Swansboro 6  East Duplin 24

Deandre Thompkins scored the only Pirates touchdown on the night.

East Duplin got another great effort from Dijon Poole and Monquel Baker to win easily 24-6.

Pamlico 0  Jones Senior 20

JaiQuin Jones scored a TD for the Trojans in a winning effort against the Pamlico Hurricanes 20-0.

SW Onslow 51  Lejeune 6

Stanley Powell had a rushing touchdown for the Stallions and Damonta Winbush also scored in the ballgame as Southwest Onslow thumps the Devilpups 51-6.

West Craven 40  White Oak 13

Anibal Aviles had an interception for the Vikings early but that would not be enough to defeat the Eagles on a night where Alkeim Harley accounted for a couple of scores and West Craven wins it 40-13.

West Carteret 13  Havelock 67

A. J. Coplon caught a touchdown pass and Pharoh Cooper had a huge night even returning a punt for a score as the Rams blowout the Patriots 67-13.

New Bern 19  Laney 7

The Bucs held the Bears in check better than most have this year but the Bears were still able to muster the win on the road 19-7.

Two Bra Lon Cherry TDs and a Tyronne Whitehead fumble return touchdown accounted for all of the Bears points.

Croatan 24  South Lenoir 17

The Cougars moved closer to a playoff berth with a close 24-17 win over the Blue Devils.

Trask 0  James Kenan 63

Marcelius Sutton was all the Tigers needed tonight in a 63-0 blowout of the Titans.

Jacksonville 14  DH Conley 31

Conley survives the Cardinal defense and a power outage to pick up a big conference win 31-14.

Walker Cummings caught a touchdown and ran for another in the winning effort.

Princeton 7  Ayden-Grifton 42

The Chargers got a rushing touchdown from Brandon Larry to set the pace as they get ready for the big showdown next week with Goldsboro with a 42-7 win over the Bulldogs.

Washington 39  South Central 14

The Pam Pack continued their winning ways by jumping out to a big lead early and the y never looked back in beating the Falcons 39-14.

New Hanover 49  JH Rose 14

The Rampants playoff hopes took a serious hit tonight as they fall to New Hanover 49-14.
