The final week of the regular season brought with it some big games that would decide conference championships and postseason seeding.

One of those games was East Duplin at Northside-Jacksonville for the East Central Conference Championship.

The Panthers held a halftime lead over the Monarchs 14-6 thanks to a 16 play 80 yard drive.

In the second half Dwayne Johnson clipped off a 49 yard scamper to get the monarchs within two.

The 2 point conversion was good and the game was tied at 14.

In the fourth quarter Johnson broke free again for a 29 yard run to give Northside a 21-14 lead.

East Duplin got the ball with less than 6 minutes left and proceeded to drive the length of the field.

With 15 seconds left the Panthers faced a fourth and one.

The quarterback rolled left and overthrew the receiver to give Northside the ball back on downs and they would run out the remaining 6 seconds for a 21-14 win, a 10-0 season, and a conference title.
