The final week of the regular season brought with it some big games that would decide conference championships and postseason seeding.
One of those games was East Duplin at Northside-Jacksonville for the East Central Conference Championship.
The Panthers held a halftime lead over the Monarchs 14-6 thanks to a 16 play 80 yard drive.
In the second half Dwayne Johnson clipped off a 49 yard scamper to get the monarchs within two.
The 2 point conversion was good and the game was tied at 14.
In the fourth quarter Johnson broke free again for a 29 yard run to give Northside a 21-14 lead.
East Duplin got the ball with less than 6 minutes left and proceeded to drive the length of the field.
With 15 seconds left the Panthers faced a fourth and one.
The quarterback rolled left and overthrew the receiver to give Northside the ball back on downs and they would run out the remaining 6 seconds for a 21-14 win, a 10-0 season, and a conference title.

C D Hansley and Dangelo Williams were too much for the Devilpups as the Bulldogs beat them 33-12 and clinched second place in the conference.
White Oak 13 Jacksonville 28
The Cardinals got out to a commanding 28-0 lead before the Vikings were able to muster some offense late in a 28-13 win for Jacksonville.
New Bern 48 JH Rose 7
The Bears finished their season undefeated by blowing out the Rampants 48-7.
