ECU Softball To Hold Walk-On Tryouts Monday January 21st
The East Carolina University softball team will hold open walk-on tryouts on Monday, Jan. 21 at ECU Softball Stadium starting at 1 p.m., head coach Beth Keylon-Randolph announced Wednesday afternoon.
All interested students should be ready to participate in a workout and bring cleats, a glove, a bat, a helmet, turf shoes and catching gear if you are a catcher.
All participants must complete a Health History Questionnaire prior to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18.
The form can be downloaded on-line or picked up in the ECU Athletic Training Room, which is located on the first floor in Ward Sports Medicine Building.
If the form is not completed and returned to assistant coach Leah Kelley (Softball Office, 212 Olympic Sports Complex), students may not try out.
The Olympic Sports Complex, which houses the softball offices plus the facility, is located on Charles Blvd. adjacent to Clark-LeClair Stadium.
In order to participate in walk-on tryouts you must be a currently enrolled student at East Carolina University (at least 12 credit hours undergraduate and 9 credit hours graduate), meet the NCAA's certification requirements and have a complete physical including sickle cell screening results PRIOR to trying out.
This physical and sickle cell screening can be completed at the ECU Student Health Center or at your own doctor's office.
All appointments are to be made and paid for on your own.

You must use this form for your physical(NO EXCEPTIONS). All paperwork must be turned into the softball office NO later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 18, 2013.
Students also need to e-mail assistant coach Steve Jaecks at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm attendance.
Included in the e-mail needs to be the participant's name, local phone number, permanent address and position.
Likely activities at the tryout will be offensive drills, defensive drills, timed base running, pitching/catching drills and an aerobic fitness test.
