Giants guard Chris Snee had surgery on his hip earlier this week, according to sources. Snee battled hip issues for much of the 2012 season, gutting out a torn labrum and bone chips. Still, the 31-year-old guard played well enough to earn his fourth Pro Bowl nod, and headed to Hawaii to play in that game before having surgery earlier this week. A source said Snee’s surgery went “well,” although the timetable for his recovery has yet to be decided. Depending on the type of surgery Snee had, it could take as much as 6-8 months for him to fully recover. However, Snee did put off surgery until after the Pro Bowl, which would likely mean the injury is not overly serious. Still, it seems possible that Snee, who has missed just six starts in his NFL career, will rest throughout the offseason and perhaps even take it easy in training camp.
