The East Carolina volleyball team will play host to Conference USA rival Memphis on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at Minges Coliseum.
The Pirates are looking get on the winning track and make an end of the season push to close out the regular season.
ECU and Memphis will meet for the 19th time in program history and the Tigers lead the all-time series with a 15-3 record.
Last season, Memphis swept East Carolina at Minges Coliseum on Nov. 20, and the Pirates are looking to even the score with the Tigers.
The last time the Pirates were victorious over the Tigers was in 2006, when ECU won in four sets at Memphis.
The Pirates are coming off of a tough weekend in which they were swept at home by Houston, then dropped a four-set contest at Rice.
East Carolina is 1-18 overall and 0-8 in Conference USA action and looking to get its first conference win of the season.
Junior Nicole Willis has been a consistent part of the Pirates’ offense this season as she leads the squad with 198 kills on the year.
Her 3.54 kills per set rank her eighth in the conference, and she has tallied 160 digs, 28 total blocks and 13 service aces for the Pirates.
Shelby Beasley continues to play solid defense for ECU. The junior libero leads the team in digs with 291 and her 4.22 digs per set are good for fifth in the conference.
Sophomore Zarah Cecich has emerged as the Pirates’ setter late in the season and has amassed 415 assists to average 7.03 assists per set.
Senior Kelly Derby is East Carolina’s leader in blocks with 72 and her 1.04 blocks per set put her sixth in the conference rankings.
