The Miami Dolphins announced Friday that they interviewed New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio for their general manager job.
Caserio has been in his current role in the Patriots' front office since Scott Pioli left for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009.
Dolphins assistant general manager Brian Gaine and Tennessee Titans executive Lake Dawson are believed to be finalists for the job, according to multiple reports, and the Miami Herald reported that the Dolphins have had discussions with Tampa Bay Buccaneers executive Dennis Hickey.
If Caserio leaves the Patriots, it would add to a number of changes the team has already made recently. Assistant coaches Pepper Johnson, George Godsey and Dante Scarnecchia each departed since the end of the regular season.
Caserio was an assistant coach with New England before getting bumped up to the front office.
