The DH Conley Vikings had one of the most distracting weeks a high school team could imagine. They ended it by traveling to Washington for a tough conference test.
The teams traded blows in the first quarter and then the Pam Pack got some great plays from QB Jimmy Williams to put them ahead 13-7.
The Vikings would fight back and hold a 21-19 lead in the fourth quarter before Williams would strike again with a reverse pass to DJ Bell that gave Washington a 26-21 lead.
Conley would get the ball down 5 with 5 minutes to go needing a touchdown.
Davis Kirkpatrick would convert some key third and fourth down conversions with his arm and his legs.
On fourth and long with less than a minute left the snap went over Kirkpatricks head and the Pam Pack would sack him to seal the victory 26-21.
Jacksonville 12 Havelock 42
Derrell Scott had touchdown runs of 20 and 15 yards in a 42-12 victory over the Jacksonville Cardinals.
Mario Jordan had to leave the field on a backboard but preliminary reports say he is doing fine and has feeling throughout his body.
White Oak 6 South Central 28
Shawn Furlow had a 75 yard touchdown run in a 28-6 victory over White Oak.
It is the Falcons first Coastal Conference win of the season.
Lawrence Academy 6 Parrot Academy 64
The Patriots rode Nate Staskelunas to a 64-6 victory.
Staskelunas had 3 rushing touchdowns and 3 receiving touchdowns to go with 259 yards on the ground to get Parrot Academy back to .500 at 4-4.
Kinston 30 Greene Central 26
Austin Batchelor found Shyheem Carmon for a touchdown but it was not enough for the Rams as the Vikings win a close one 30-26.
Kinston got a big interception from Daryn Parker to help secure the win.
JH Rose 7 Hoggard 34
Cornell Powell had the only Rampant score in a tough 34-7 road loss to Hoggard.
Southside 44 South Creek 26
Rokeem Miller had 181 yards and two touchdowns to go with an interception for a score to help Seahawks beat South Creek 44-26.
Croatan 14 Topsail 32
Turnovers problems once again plagued the Cougars in a 32-14 loss. Croatan had 6 giveaways tonight to run the total to 17 in the past three weeks alone.
