Washington man is hospitalized with cuts after fight

WASHINGTON - At around 5:36 p.m. Washington Police and EMS responded to Bobby Andrews Recreation Center on 237 East 7th Street for a fight with injuries.

Two men fought and one of them ended up being transported to Vidant Washington for several cuts to the arm.

Kofi Juma Rodgers, 35, of Sam Graddy Road in Washington, Beaufort County was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.  Rodgers is in the Beaufort County Detention with a $5,000 bond pending court appearances. Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

The recreation center was closed for the night following the incident.
