Two men were sent to the hospital after a crash on Island Creek Road in Jones County on Monday afternoon, said troopers.

Around 5 p.m. a motorcycle was traveling on Island Creek Road when the driver went over the center line, hitting a pickup truck head-on, said investigators.

Troopers are investigating if speed was a factor in the crash.

The man on the motorcycle was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center after being stabilized on the scene, according to investigators. Troopers say that his condition cannot be released at this time.

The man who was hit in the pickup truck was driven to the hospital by family members who came to the scene to transport him, said troopers. The man in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries, said troopers.

Investigators say both men involved in the crash are white males in their early twenties. The names of the males involved have not been released at this time.

Charges are pending, said troopers.
