GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY -

Authorities said they arrested two people for allegedly breaking into a government building in Pitt County.

According to investigators, 21-year-old Jamie Hamilton and 19-year-old Kristifer Perez broke into the Buildings and Grounds Department on two separate occasions.

The first break-in was on Oct. 8, authorities said. The second one occurred on Oct. 16.

During the break-ins, the suspects allegedly took $3,000 in power tools and other equipment.

Hamilton and Perez have been charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of obtaining property by false pretense, and two counts of transporting copper on state highways.
