Tryon Palace is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the historic "March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom" with a trip to Washington, D.C. on Saturday.
Participants will take the trip by bus, according to a release. They are scheduled to tour where the march took place in 1963, including where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech.
The bus boarding will begin at 11 p.m. Friday at the Tryon Palace's Eden Street parking lot. Availability for this trip is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration ended on July 31.
