Trace Cooper re-elected as mayor of Atlantic Beach

Capturing more than 63 percent of the votes, Trace Cooper has been re-elected as mayor of Atlantic Beach.

Cooper received 361 of the 571 total votes Tuesday night to claim his fourth term as Atlantic Beach's mayor. Retired physician Paul Woodard received 208 votes.

Meanwhile, eight candidates ran for the five Atlantic Beach commissioner seats. The top five were declared the winners. They are Danny Navey (412 votes, 16.96 percent), John B. Rivers (375 votes, 15.44 percent), Ann Batt (366 votes, 15.07 percent), Harry Archer (358 votes, 14.74 percent), and Rick Poillon (266 votes, 10.95 percent).
