RALEIGH, WAKE COUNTY - St. Augustine's University says it has reassigned two convicted killers following revelations that they were working with a children's summer camp hosted by the school.
University President Dianne Boardley Suber said Friday that administrator Doris Bullock and her assistant Deidra Gary are no longer involved with the school's Kiddie Kollege Summer Camp program for children ages five through nine.
Bullock was convicted of second-degree murder in 1981, when her name was Doris Braswell. She is an assistant vice president working out of the president's office.
Deidra Gray was convicted of manslaughter for killing Carolina Panthers running back Fred Lane in 2003. She was formerly Deidra Lane.
Suber said both women are excellent employees and have been commended by parents. A spokeswoman declined further comment.
