ROCKY MOUNT, EDGECOMBE COUNTY - Police are investigating a shooting that killed a teen and injured three others in Rocky Mount early Friday.
According to the Rocky Mount Police Department, the shooting happened at about 12:30 a.m. Friday on the 700 block of Branch Street.
Investigators said when they first arrived at the scene, they found two teens with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Nash General Hospital.
One of the victims, identified as 18-year-old Devonta Eburg, of Rocky Mount, died at the hospital, police said. The other victim, a 17-year-old also from Rocky Mount, was treated and released.
A short time later, two more injured victims arrived at Nash General Hospital. They were transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where they were treated and released, police said. Although their names are unknown, investigators said they are 21 and 26 years old and are both from the Rock Mount area.
The shooting remains under investigation and no arrest has been made, police said. There is no word on a possible motive.
