Maleah Carter spends most of her week at HJ MacDonald Middle School in the classroom studying.
But in her spare time, she volunteers and packs lunches for other students.
It's all part of a local program called backpack lunch.
The program helps supply food for students who may not have a meal during the weekends.
But due to recent state budget cuts, the backpack program is struggling to stay afloat
So in an effort to raise money for this program, parents and community leaders with JR PAWS have come together to put on a haunted trail which will open to the public Saturday night.
Proceeds benefit several nutrition and technology programs at the school.
The haunted trail will run from 6 until 9 Saturday night, at the HJ MacDonald gymnasium.
Tickets are on sale for $5.
