GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY -

Police said they need help identifying a woman who stole an 82-year-old's wallet at a Lowe's store.

According to the Greenville Police Department, the 82-year-old man was making several returns at the Lowe's store on Thomas Langston Road on May 14. But he accidentally left his wallet on the customer service desk and walked away.

Surveillance video shows a woman walking up to the counter moments after the man left, police said. The woman then placed her bag on the counter, picked up the wallet, discretely looked through it, made her returns, and left with the wallet, according to investigators.

The 82-year-old man later realized he had left his wallet, and worked with store employees to figure out what happened, said police.
