JACKSONVILLE - Police say a late-night robbery led to a store clerk being shot. It happened shortly before midnight at the One-Stop-Shop Convenience Store in Jacksonville. That's located at 501 Corbin Street.
Investigators say the clerk was outside, in front of the business, when he was approached by a male suspect. At gunpoint, the suspect forced the clerk back into the store and behind the counter.
Police say the suspect shot the clerk before fleeing on foot. Investigators say the suspect ran towards the area of Holiday City Mobile Home Park with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The clerk, who has not been publicly identified, was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition. A store employee tells us the clerk had surgery on Thursday for injuries sustained in the robbery.
The incident is under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect in surveillance video. Anyone with information about the suspect or incident is asked to contact JPD Detective Barbara Evanson at 910-938-6405. Crimestoppers offers rewards of up to

Jacksonville Police Chief Mike Yaniero announced an additional reward will be offered in this case, saying, "the police department will match the reward provided by Crimestoppers for information leading to arrest in this case."
