GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY -

Police said a man barricaded himself inside his bedroom after calling about a break-in at his Greenville apartment.

According to investigators, the man called police at about 12:30 p.m. from Legends Townhomes on Thomas Langston Road, claiming someone had broken into his apartment. The man said he barricaded himself in his bedroom and could hear people downstairs, police said.

But investigators said once they arrived, they could not find any evidence of a break-in. The 3,300 block of Thomas Langston Road at Legend Townhomes was shut down, but has since reopened.
