HAVELOCK, CRAVEN COUNTY -

Havelock Police have identified a man found shot outside his duplex Friday morning. They say the victim is Gerald Price, 45.

The shooting took place around 11:10 a.m. on 228 Cedar Ridge Lane in Havelock. Officers found Price with multiple gunshot wounds, lying in the front yard of his residence. He was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville by Marine Corps rescue helicopter Pedro.

Officials at Vidant Medical Center confirmed Price did not survive.

"I just left my house for about ten minutes, and I came back and it happened just that fast," said neighbor Arnetta Bloomer. "He walked outside and stumbled and fell in the front yard."

Police are searching for a black Dodge Ram, 2500 series, crew cab pick-up truck with no tailgate; that vehicle was seen leaving the area during the time of the shooting.

Investigators are still searching for a motive but believe the shooting was an intentional act targeting the victim and not a random act of violence.

Police are requesting anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the department at (252) 447-3212.
