Police search for suspect in string of vehicle break-ins
Investigators said they are searching for a man responsible for a string of car break-ins in Craven County.
According to Havelock Police, 20-year-old Marco Antonio Portalatin, of Cherry Branch, broke into six vehicles at Christopher Court, Verona Drive, Legacy Lane, Kim Avenue and John Court. The suspect allegedly stole wallets, coins and electronic devices. The crime spree happened between July 1 and July 2, investigators said.
Portalatin is wanted on six counts of felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, five counts of misdemeanor larceny, one count of injury to personal property, one count of felony conspiracy, and one count of felony accessory after the fact.
Police said the suspect may have had accomplices, but their identities were unknown.
