KINSTON, LENOIR COUNTY -

Police said two teens were shot in Kinston Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Kinston Department of Public Safety, 19-year-old Rashawn Franklin suffered non life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition at Vidant Medical Center. The second victim, a 15-year-old juvenile, was expected to be released from Vidant Wednesday morning.

Woody Spencer of KDPS said officers got a call of shots being fired on the 700 block of East Washington Avenue at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they found the two victims with gunshot wounds on the 600 block of Lenoir Avenue, Spencer said.

Police said they are searching for whoever shot and injured two people in Kinston Tuesday afternoon.

According to Woody Spencer with the Kinston Department of Public Safety, officers got a call of shots being fired on the 700 block of East Washington Avenue at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds on the 600 block of Lenoir Avenue, Spencer said. Both victims were taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. There is no word on their identities or extent of injuries.
