Officers in Greenville on Wednesday arrested a man they said was in possession of a stolen handgun and more than 300 grams of cocaine.
The Greenville Regional Drug Task Force with assistance from the Pitt County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division issued a statement that said the arrested concluded a two-month investigation into cocaine trafficking in the Pitt County area.
Josh Edmondson was arrested near 7014 Hwy 43 N. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of 348 grams of cocaine and a stolen handgun, officers said. Over the course of the investigation, the task force recovered over 400 grams of cocaine. The handgun, a 9mm FNP-9, was reported stolen in Edgecombe County.
Edmondson was charged with several counts of trafficking cocaine, possession of a stolen handgun, and possession of firearm by felon. He was put in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $2 million bond.
