Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Family Dollar

GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY - Police say they are looking for two men who tried to rob a Family Dollar in Greenville.

Store surveillance video shows two black males attempting to open the front door of the Family Dollar at 2530 S. Memorial Dr. at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, said the Greenville Police Department. But the men ran away after realizing the store was closed and the door was locked, investigators said.

Police said one of the suspects was wearing all black, with white shoes and a bandana. The second suspect was wearing a black and red plaid shirt, black and white bandana, black pants and white shoes. At least one of them had a gun, according to police.
