NEW BERN, CRAVEN COUNTY - Police have released the name of a man wanted for allegedly shooting another man during an armed robbery in New Bern Monday night.
A warrant has been issued for 21-year-old Deontre Randall, described as a black male, for robbery with a dangerous weapon, said the New Bern Police Department.
According to investigators, 22-year-old Dashawn Moore and several other people were meeting on the corner of Clark Avenue and Neuse Boulevard when Randall --who was in the group-- shot Moore.
Officers responded at about 10:07 p.m. Monday.
Family members took Moore to CarolinaEast Medical Center, police said. The victim was later transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Anyone with information on Randall's whereabouts is asked to call the New Bern Police Department's TIPS line at 252-636-5034 or Craven County Crime Stoppers at 252-633-5141.
Police said investigation is ongoing and there may be further arrests.
Police say a man was shot during an armed robbery in New Bern overnight.
The shooting happened at the intersection of Colonial Way and Green Park Terrace.
Sgt. Jason Williams with the New Bern Police Department told NewsChannel 12 one man was shot by another person. The victim then walked to the 800 block of Clark Avenue before he paused due to his injuries. Police said that was where they found the man.
Investigators said the man was taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center before being transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. But his identity and condition have not been released.
The New Bern Police Department's media line later confirmed the shooting stemmed from an armed robbery. Witnesses said they heard three to four shots being fired.
