Police: Armed robber targets convenience store, remains at large

GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY -

Greenville Police said they are searching for an armed robber who held up a clerk at a convenience store.

According to investigators, the armed robbery was reported at about 3 a.m. Thursday at the Kangaroo Express at 2600 Charles Blvd., near the old Gold's Gym.

Police said an unidentified male suspect entered the store and held up the clerk at gunpoint. The robber then stole some cash before running away on foot, said investigators.

As of 4:30 a.m. Thursday, police continued their search but planned to scale back, said officials.
