Police have arrested a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars in copper piping from homes in Greenville.
According to the Greenville Police Department, 27-year-old Jarrett Jenkins is charged with five counts of breaking and entering and five counts of larceny after breaking and entering.
Police said Jenkins stole copper piping from five vacant homes that were for sale. The thefts happened between April and June of this year, said investigators.
In each home, Jenkins took copper from the crawl space, police explained. In all, several thousand dollars of copper piping were stolen, investigators added.
Jenkins was arrested on Wednesday and was being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $150,000 bond.
