GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY - Correction: This article had previously reported that Dixon allegedly shot one of the suspects. Police said Dixon was not the shooter. The details in this article have since been fixed.
Police said they have arrested three men after a failed drug transaction and shooting at a student apartment complex in Greenville.
Maurice Allen Jr., Jaquan Lane and Christopher Dixon are being held under a combined $3.2 million bond at the Pitt County Detention Center.
Greenville Police said they heard shots being fired at about 7:46 p.m. Sunday at the Pirates Place apartment complex on Charles Boulevard. Officers said they later discovered that a failed drug transaction led to the shooting.
According to investigators, Allen and Lane displayed a weapon during the incident, and were shot at by a man from inside the apartment. Allen suffered a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, police said.
There was no word on who the shooter was.
Allen and Lane were arrested and charged with attempted murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a felony, and shooting into an occupied dwelling, said investigators. Their bonds were each set at $1.5 million.
The victim of the robbery, Dixon, was charged with maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, sell / delivery of marijuana, and conspiracy to sell / deliver marijuana, police said. His bond was set at $200,000.
