MERCEDES-BENZ SUPERDOME, NEW ORLEANS - The University of Louisiana-Lafayette defeats ECU 43-34 in Saturday's New Orleans Bowl, despite the Pirates coming back from 21 points down to tie the game in the third quarter.
The Ragin' Cajuns got off to a fast start, with Terrance Broadway running 12 yards to square a touchdown at 8:10 in the first quarter. ECU could not score in the first period.
In the second quarter, the Ragin' Cajuns continued their scoring ways- getting three TD's. The Pirates kept pace however, and scored three touchdowns of their own in the second period.
In the third quarter, ECU clamored down on defense, allowing ULL to score just one TD. The Pirates were able to come from 21 down to tie it up in the third.
In the fourth quarter, neither team got a touchdown. ECU did score a field goal, but the Ragin' Cajuns scored two field goals to pull away, 43-34.
