Greenville Police said they are searching for a man who robbed a woman Thursday morning near the police station.

According to investigators, the robber approached the victim at the intersection of 4th and Evans Streets at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday. The man then demanded her to give up her purse, police said. After the victim complied, the robber escaped on foot westbound on 4th Street.

The victim was not injured, said investigators

Police described the male suspect as being about 5-foot-10 and weighing about 170 pounds. . He was wearing gray sweat pants, a gray sweatshirt with the hood up over his head, and white tennis shoes.
