CRAVEN COUNTY -

A house in Craven County, with a history of fires, was destroyed in a large blaze Friday morning.

The house fire happened at 125 Truitt Rd., located about 6-and-a-half northeast of Bridgeton near the Craven-Pamlico County line. Fire officials said they responded at about 12:30 a.m. Friday.

No one was injured, officials said. The home is a total loss.

The SBI is investigating what caused the blaze.

About a dozen crews responded to the fire, including crews from as far away as Oriental, west New Bern, and Florence.

Emergency officials told NewsChannel 12 the same house had caught fire at least four times in the past 10 years.
