GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY - The City of Greenville recently enacted new parking regulations for the residential area located north of the East Carolina University campus from E. 5th Street to the Tar River. Parking Enforcement personnel have initiated an educational campaign to alert drivers in the affected area.
The newly adopted parking plan is a "residential parking by permit only" system.
Vehicles found parked on the affected streets without the permit, will be ticketed.
This plan will take effect October 1, 2013. Until that time, parking enforcement
officers will be issuing warning flyers to cars found in violation.
A parking permit will be required for on-street parking at the following locations,
anytime between the hours of 7am and 5pm:
• First Street
• Biltmore Street
• Lewis Street
• Student Street
• Second Street
• Eastern Street
• Library Street
• Summit Street
• Third Street
• Harding Street
• Maple Street
• Willow Street
• East Fourth Street
• Holly Street
• Meade Street
• Woodlawn Avenue
• Avery Street
• Jarvis Street
• Rotary Avenue
• Baker Street
• Johnston Street
• Stancil Drive
Residents of these areas should obtain a parking permit if they park on the street
between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Permits will be available for purchase from the City of
Greenville Public Works Department beginning September 3, 2013.
