NEW BERN, CRAVEN COUNTY -

A busy New Bern road is back open after a gas leak late Tuesday afternoon.

Oaks Road, between Morris Body Shop and 1st. Avenue, is now open to traffic.

The gas leak was reported at about 5:01 p.m. Tuesday, according to New Bern Fire-Rescue. Crews with Piedmont Natural Gas went to the scene.

No injuries were reported and no homes were evacuated, officials said.

There is no word on what caused the leak.
