Headed to the scene of a bank robbery early Tuesday, a New Bern police cruiser crashed on the Alfred A. Cunningham DrawBridge.
The crash happened at some point after 9 a.m. The bridge was closed shortly after because local emergency officials reported the road was too icy.
The bridge connects to different county roads and the Trent and Neuse River Bridges.
This crash and closure is just one of many reported in the southern portion of our viewing area where the majority of wintry precipitation was reportedly falling.
