North Carolina released county by county unemployment numbers for August. The numbers show a significant drop compared to the numbers a year ago in North Carolina.

The most gains were made in Carteret, Pamlico and Tyrrell Counties. The unemployment rates in these counties dropped more than 2% each.

Every other county's unemployment rate dropped by 1% or more over the past year.

According to Larry Parker, with the State Department of Commerce, just about every sector of employment has seen job growth over the past year except construction and government.
