1949: Singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt, who released a series of acclaimed roots-influenced albums in the 1970s, is born in Burbank, Calif. She is perhaps even better known for her more commercial recordings in the 1990s including "Something to Talk About," "Love Sneakin' Up on You" and "I Can't Make You Love Me."
