A cash-strapped Greek soccer team finds a way to pay the bills thanks to the world's oldest profession.

Members of the Voukefalas soccer club now wear hot pink practice jerseys reading "Villa Erotica," one of two brothels the team recruited as sponsors amid drastic sports budget cuts, The Associated Press reported.

Prostitution is legal in Greece, although brothels operate under strict guidelines.

However, league organizers have banned the team from wearing its pink jerseys on field because the funding violates "the sporting ideal" and is inappropriate for children, the AP reported.

Brothel owner Soula Alevridou says she only offered to help because she loves soccer, and isn't too worried about the controversy affecting business.

"It's not the kind of business that needs promotion," she told the AP. "It's a word-of-mouth kind of thing."
