A charity group in Pitt County held a mud run Saturday for critically and chronically ill children in Eastern North Carolina.
The Dream Factory Dirty Dash was a 5k obstacle course on some bike paths in Greenville. The organization sends children and their families on vacations or fulfills wishes.
The course had 8 obstacles including many areas that were covered in mud. This was the first year of the race.
More than 180 people participated in the run. Organizers said they raised $10,000.
Even though the Dream Factory is a national organization, the funds will stay in the 29 counties it covers in North Carolina.
