UPDATE:Ackerson?s 2006 white Ford Focus was located early Wednesday morning parked near 5400 Summit Manor Lane in Raleigh. At this point, the investigation of the missing person case has not produced evidence that foul play was involved in Ackerson?s disappearance, Raleigh police said.
Ackerson was last seen Wednesday, July 13, when she was leaving her two young children at her ex-boyfriend's home. Ackerson would usually pick up her children every Friday, but when she didn't arrive for the latest swap, a concerned friend called police.
"I was very upset when I heard the news," said neighbor Felicia Harris. "I hope everything's OK with her."
Police are suspicious because Ackerson never missed a chance to see her one and 3-year-old boys. She is the head of GoFish Graphic Design, a business based from her upscale Kinston apartment.
"She's very outgoing, a great mother, entrepreneur, a very intelligent woman," Vanderlee said. "We want her home."
Investigators spent several hours at Ackerman's apartment building Monday and Tuesday, interviewing neighbors for possible leads. Police have not commented on who may be a person of interest in the case.
Ackerson was last seen driving a 2006 white four-door Ford Focus, with the license plate ZTL-7433. Ackerson is described as a white female who stands approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. If you have any information, you are asked to call Kinston Police at (252)939-3160.
