The 2nd Marine Logistics Group is hosting a homecoming for about 100 Marines and sailors.
The event is scheduled for Thursday for the members of Combat Logistics Battalion 8.
While deployed for about six months in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, the battalion formed the headquarters of the larger Combat Logistics Regiment 2. In that role, CLB-8 is being replaced by CLB-6. This group is the second wave of service members from the regiment that will be arriving home during July and August. The first group returned to the U.S. on July 1.
The regiment is responsible for providing tactical logistics support to units operating throughout Regional Command Southwest as they continue to advise and assist the Afghan National Security Forces.
