JACKSONVILLE, ONSLOW COUNTY - An Onslow County man facing 58 counts on six sexual-offense-related charges had his first appearance in court this morning.
A three week long investigation by the Onslow County Sheriff's Office and NCIS aboard Camp Lejeune led to the arrest of Bruce Edward Green, 53, of Forest Bluff Drive in Jacksonville. Investigators say the investigation began when information of the sexual assaults was revealed by one of the victims. The investigation led to the discovery of additional victims of Green.
The charges against Green include 15 counts of Second Degree Forcible Sexual Offense, 14 counts of Second Degree Rape, four counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child and three counts of Felony Child Abuse, among other charges.
A neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, has young children. He says he always had a bad feeling about Green.
"It's just very disconcerting that something like that could happen so close to home," he said.
He says Green had invited his children over to play in a pool, and from then wouldn't allow his children to go near Green's home.
"As a parent, you have to be extra vigilant with what your kids are doing at all times."
Green was booked into the Onslow County Detention Center on a $5.4 Million bond.
