Local police have arrested a second man accused of murdering a woman outside a church in Durham.
Arsenio Jarmal Lamberth, 23, was arrested Tuesday evening in Kinston, police said. No other details on his arrest were released.
Lamberth and his brother, 21-year-old Dominique Zavier Lamberth, are accused of murdering Kourtney Krista Dawson on Feb. 26. The fatal shooting happened on Halloway Street, near North Gurthrie Avenue in Durham, police said. The scene is outside a church.
Police said it all started when the Lamberth brothers robbed a man of $20, then shot at the victim's vehicle as he drove away. One of the shots hit Dawson as she was walking on Halloway Street. She was not the intended target, but died at the scene, said investigators.
Prior to Arsenio Lamberth's arrest on Tuesday, Dominque Lamberth was already arrested in March. They are both charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
