ONSLOW COUNTY -

Detectives say they've have arrested three men accused of being involved in a major theft ring in which dozens of vehicles were broken into.

According to the Onslow County Sheriff's Office, detectives arrested 20-year-old Calvin Roman, of Midway Park, 19-year-old Manuel Mejia, of Jacksonville, and 23-year-old Jamel Brown, of Midway Park. Investigators said they are still looking for 30-year-old Nicolas Anthony Perrault.

Detectives said they believe the suspects were involved in a theft ring that may be responsible for more than 60 vehicle break-ins from January to July 2014. The theft ring operated throughout Onslow County, including cities and military jurisdictions, said investigators.

The Onslow County Sheriff's Office said its detectives have identified more than 40 victims whose vehicles were broken into.

Detectives said because one of the suspects had a car that was stolen from Durham, it's possible the theft ring is involved in vehicle break-ins in other North Carolina counties.

The suspects told investigators they were committing the crimes to support their heroin addiction, the Sheriff's Office stated.

The suspects said they only broke into unlocked vehicles, detectives said. None of the vehicles showed signs of forced entry.
